americanyoung

American Young is the country singer/songwriter duo of Kristy Osmunson and Jon Stone, both of whom had some success as Nashville songwriters before joining forces in 2013. Osmunson, a fiddle player, had been a member of the group Bomshel and had her songs recorded by Jory + Rory, among others, while Stone was an in-demand producer who had written songs recorded by Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, and others. Initially the pair were looking to write some songs together, but their chemistry when they sang made it obvious they had to give the performing end a try. Their debut self-titled EP appeared in 2014 from Curb Records, led by the singles “Love Is War” and “Wasn’t Gonna Drink Tonight.” – CMT.com

March 15 • Sam Riggs

samriggs

In the life of a working musician, everything hinges on the connection made with fans, and Sam Riggs‘ ability to draw his listeners completely into his world comes as naturally to him as breathing. He describes that synergy with his faithfuls as “rabid,” and their die-hard support is a fire and gasoline concoction that fuels his songwriting. He has accomplished this bond with his fans because, in a nut shell, Sam writes the stories of the people. Music travels fast, and Sam’s steady pursuit on the heels of his own widely proceeding reputation is a marathon that he admits leaves him breathless. And so, the story continued with the latest release of his brand new album “Breathless” in early 2016.
